Embarrassing Q - any advice?

My DD is now 7 months old and was born by caesarian. Unfortunately I am STILL finding sex painful after all this time .

Was fully breastfeeding until about 3 weeks ago. Now only feeding morning and night, although can be 2 or 3 times in the night! Wonder if hormone levels are to blame and if/ when sex will get back to normal (unless this is normal now!) Any advice gratefully received, before I have to brave the Dr.

TIA

Have you tried using lubricant? Or at least a different one to KY? There is something called, IIRC, Replens, that was recommended to me when I had problems after ds. Haven't used it so don't know what it's like. The trouble with KY is that it was designed to lubricate between flesh and appliance (eg speculum), rather than between flesh and flesh. Try one of the lubricants designed for sex. This is a good source of info and 'stuff'.

Could this be the answer?

FWIW, I don't think your problem is all that uncommon in postnatal women.

Agree with PC about using tons of lubricant - more than you think you could possibly need. That's what GP advised me, I thought he was just being patronising, but it worked!

I think the hormones produced by bf-ing do make you drier.
