Seems so trival compared to some on here, I apologise.

DP has had sinusitis and had a week of antibiotics which didn't do much tbh.
He was off with it for 2 weeks.
He now has tonsillitis and on pencillin for 7 days and the results of his bloods show everything normal but liver function- the enzymes are higher but the Doc reckons this is due to the antibiotics- he had bloods done on the Tues but started taking the antib's on the Fri. Either that or his lifestyle, he is tee total and pretty healthy so I'm not sure its that.
He also has an upset stomach at the moment and he isn't really eating but is drinking a lot of water and some decaf sugary tea. He has a high temp too.

Rationally I am thinking he is run down and just suffering from some horrid viral thing. I am worried about him but I don't know what else to suggest to him. He's been on paracetamol and ibuprofen for nearly 3 weeks now.
I'm going to get him some diorolyte (sp?) tomorrow and try to encourage him to eat some dry toast I guess. Also will look at some probiotics for when he has finished the antib's.
He isn't really helping himself IMO but heyho.

I know he is an adult etc, etc but I am worried and heavily pregnant and looking after our 9 month old, I am a tad emotional myself.

Just wondered if anyone had any ideas to help shift this/ make him feel a bit better?

Many thanks :)

Tonsillitis is horrid. DH had it when I was pg, and it was a lot of work for me!

Try Ecinacea, Vit C, yoghurt, as you say, and rest and time. He will get better. x

Thank you LynetteScavo it is a lot of work! Having him home and poorly is bad enough as it is.
Will add ecinacea and vit c to my shopping list for tomorrow.

Though gargling with aspirin, see if he can anyway.

Re the liver results, I had a blood test which showed abnormal liver results when I had a couple of bouts of tonsillitis last autumn/winter. It was tested again later and was back to normal. My gp said it could be the infections. I also thought it could be the antibiotics or the paracetamol - he was dismissive of this but he's a crap gp unfortunately.

Has he been tested for glandular fever? As well as the tonsillitis it can show abnormal liver results.

LynetteScavo · 09/04/2011 18:30

How is he now?

Any Tonic with Vit B in it will help boost his energy levels.

After his antibiotics finish give him Bimuno along with some probiotics.

Liver results are not an issue unless he has been overdoing the paracetamol and ibuprofen, they are more likely a consequence of the infection.
