Peeling hands and feet! Any ideas?

The skin on the palm of my ds's hands and also the soles of his feet is peeling off.

Any idea what the cause could be? My eldest dd has also had some slight peeling on her hands.

My ds had this around 8 months when he was crawling up a storm. It happened right after we visited my mum in italy and I thought maybe it was from some polish used on the stone floors in her house. Or barring that, slapped cheek. I never did get to the bottom of it.

could be a fungal infection. when i get athletes foot, my feet always peel at the same time.

Din't know how old he is, so not sure if you use baby products or general household soap, bubble bath etc. Anyway I had the same thing if I used pink soap (didn't matter what make, just pink!!) My mum has it in her bathroom but now always gets white soap if we visit. I used some pink soap recently in a friends cloakroom and within minutes the skin was peeling from my hands.

Hi Angiel, I get this a lot; so far neither DS (2) nor DH nor any other member of my family gets it. I can't really pinpoint down to one thing as it just flares up randomly. I know that when I go to certain family and friends I've noticed it gets worse - have wondered whether it may be to do with certain types of carpet, furniture polish and air freshners. It nearly always flares up afte a visit to my aunt who is obsessed with cleaning so it could be the products or it could be the Scotchguard in her carpets? It's v difficult to identify but I wouldn't worry too much as in my case at least it doesn't cause real problems though I guess it's not nice to look at.
