Any experience of uterine polyps?

After bleeding in between periods for several months my GP referred me for an ultrasound scan. The sonographer said she could see 'echoes' in my womb lining, possibly a fybroid or polyp.
Has anybody else had anything like this and what did your GP do?

D&C

Yes, I had a teeny uterine polyp, visible on ultrasound. I saw a gynae, who performed a D&C on the basis that a tiny percentage of polyps, if left untreated, can become cancerous in the long term.

The thing fell off of its own accord just before they could get to it - cue some very red faces when I came round from the anaesthetic, and no biopsy. I had a follow up u/s six months later, and it was fine - no problems since.

They are very common - as are fibroids - and very treatable, so try not to worry!

thanks, that's reassuring!
