Menstrual cycle after breast feeding

Hi
DD is almost 8 months old and I stopped breastfeeding her 2 weeks ago. Does anyone know how long it takes for your cycle to start up again? I'm worried as had very irregular cycle prior to conceiving and just turned 38 and would like another baby asap.
Thanks

It took me 8 weeks before my periods began again and I conceived very quickly. However I was 30 at the time. I suspect everybody is different though. So probably not much help Blush

Never thought I'd be willing them to start!!!

I'm not an expert but lots of women conceive even before their periods begin again. Some whilst still breast feeding. My periods were actually more regular after my children but I may not be the norm.

Why don't you have a chat with your GP about it all? They'll know your medical history and may have some good advice for you.

I suspect you'll have some more helpful replies later on here too.
