symptoms of uterine infection - but given all clear by doc?

Hi all, just wondering if anyone else has experienced this - I've had a month of a couple of cold viruses and getting generally run down. A few days after my period, i had a very bloody discharge (def not menstrual blood) and have been feeling very tired, shaky and palpitations. I went to a 'well woman' clinic today and the doc there had a look (and a feel!) and said she was sure there was no infection present (had post-natal smears last year, all clear). Wondering if anyone else has had similar experience or can shed some light on symptoms? Have had some period/hormone probs since having baby in Nov 2009 (csection) and was put on antibiotics after six week check up for uterine infection (with similar symptoms), though the swabs came back clear. Am also on ferrous fumarate since Sept 2010 for low ferritin levels, havent had bloods checked since. Doc at clinic seemed reluctant to shed any further light on symptoms, so i do plan to see my GP this week. Bit concerned and frustrated! Any thoughts welcome, not looking for diagnosis, just wondering if anyone else's uterus has been acting up since birth! Thanks x

Bumping for you (no experience, sorry - my BF had a uterine infection straight after delivery, but it involved high fever and IV antibiotics, very dramatic!)

Yes similar probs here too. I had a temp and shakes last week but have had off and on since having dd, an urge to go with not much there and sort of mungy feeling in lower abdomen iykwim? Doc did a test but not an infection although gave me some antibiotics which have done nothing to help. I wonder if it may be connected to IBS which I suffer from and just a viral infection which caused the temp? Am also Confused

hi smashing, yes i think we are probably exposed to so many viruses with the kids it can be hard to keep track of what symptoms are viral and what could be something else. I'm putting my temp and shakes down to virus, pretty sure i've got sinusitis now so that could be making me feel crapola, and still got a bit of bleeding. Think if you know you've had something then it's more than likely that's to blame. I've used acupuncture and herbal medicine in the past, the practitioners i see would certainly make connection between IBS and other probs and feelings in lower abdomen. And i reckon IBS can make you feel unwell generally. Why do they give antibiotics if they think there's no infection - or do some infections just not show up? I wonder if it just varies from doctor to doctor. Aaargh...
Have you thought about going down an 'alternative' route if you're getting no joy from doc? E.g herbs, diet. Or referral for a scan? Confused
