Hi all
We are tying to raise awareness and get rountine screening done for this condition! Allo Immune Thrombocytopenia
www.naitbababies.org
is a non-profit site that has been created to raise knowledge and awareness of a disease most people have never heard of, neonatal alloimmune thrombocytopenia or NAIT. Also known as FNAIT,FMAIT, NAT, AIT.
You wouldnt know you have the condition until you keep miscarrying! your baby is stillborn or or is born ill! and no ones knows whats wrong! a simple blood test can tell if you are at risk but they dont do rountine screening for the condition.
If you do have the condition all subsequent pregnancies could be affected and treatment would be needed.
It is caused by a antigen present in the fathers blood that the mother doesnt have. NO its not Rhesus, treatment for NAIT is more complex!
Please log onto the site or search NAIT on Facebook or Yahoo groups and pass the information on
