mil and dh had kidney transplants within 2 months of each other

my dh had his on 20/1/11 and my mil had hers this morning, she is back on the ward, surgery has gone well but as of yet we dont know any more than that.

dh was on dialysis for 6 years and 9 months and mil was on for roughly 18 months,

its such a hugeeee relief that its all over, feels like we have gone through hell,

Wow. Big love to you all. Who donated? Big love to them too.

Great news for them, less great for the donor families, but it does highlight the importance of carrying the card.
Wishing them a safe, uneventful recovery and a long long life.

all we know about dh,s donor is that he was a 30 year old male, dont know anything about mil,s donor, when the transplant co-ordinator told us the donor was 30 i cried as it made it more real that even though hubby is getting an amazing someone is grieving, but everyday we are thankful that they were willing to donate there loved ones organs,

yesterday we took the kids too the park for the first time ever as a family. its the simple things that mean so much to us x
