I used to always use Adcortyl in Orabase when I got an ulcer but have discovered they've discontinued it.

I started with a sore throad two days ago, then yesterday I had two nasty ulcers and today I've got about 5 or 6 all over the front part and tip of my tongue. It feels like it's been scalded. My neck glands are up. I am very unhappy.

I've tried DS's teething gel which helps for a bit and my used lidocaine throat spray for the sore throat all over my mouth but the relief doesn't last long. Also had a couple of paracetamol but I can't think of anything else except how much it hurts.

Am BFing so wary about taking loads of painkillers.

Oraldene mouthwash helps. You should probably see GP if not better in a couple of days. Poor you.

Would you be able to get hold of some Gelclair?

I am not sure if you can get it over the counter but it is very good for sore mouths,I am sure you could get from gp.

Try Difflam mouthwash for the pain, its amazing and chlorhexadine mouthwash will heal your mouth ( its always good to keep in the bathroom cabinet!).

Thanks for responses. Turns out it was oral thrush - horrible but has started to respond to Nystatin. Never had it before and never realised how painful it could be.

I'm hoping to be off my soup-only diet in a couple of days.
