I have been on 4 different pills to get rid of acne over last 2 years. Current ones started in Jan tetracycline. since then I've gained about 1/2 a stone and am sure it's linked to pills in that general diet really hasn't changed. I've checked online and can't see weight as a side effect. Is it the pills or is it just me....

They need to find the cause of the acne (which is likely hormonal) and not just treat the symptoms.

Adult onset acne is sometimes caused by polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). Some women with PCOS do put on weight very easily but find it very difficult to lose any excess pounds. Blood tests and internal ultrasounds can determine whether a person has this condition.

I'm getting a bit fed up about the whole thing actually as I used to have really really good skin. Sometimes it looks as though I've been at the bottle as my nose goes quite red. Are there any other symptoms of PCOS?
