just been to GP and ds (1) has balanitis. GP says to try and wash it after every wee (er, how would I know when he wees as in nappies?) really perplexed as to how he got it as for the last month he has had between 3-5 little baths a day (post-operative, another story). he does have bad nappy rash round anus mainly (stemming from his surgery and antibios, I thought) so GPhas also prescibed anti-fungal cream for there. Could balanitis be an extension of that? or separate issue?
what's the best way to make sure all is clean and it clears up?

Aw, Dinny - have no idea, but just wanted to say give DS a cuddle from me - poor little boy

And big hugs to you too - is horrible for you

Just wash it at every nappy change, it's the best you can do. I don't think you have to do anything special - IIRC you should not try to retract the foreskin at all. Maybe something like teatree oil in the water you wash it with?

so just water and cotton wool? have never used wipes on him anyway.

don't really know how much better I can clean it - I already wash with warm water/cotton wool every nappy change plus the aforementioned 3+ baths a day atm...
