Is there a bug going round that starts with a nasty headache & follows with sickness?

Only my DS woke crying with a throbbing headache & within 10 minutes he was vomiting. He seems a little better in himself now but has been sick 3 times & complains of the head pain just before. I am a little concerned so am hoping this could just be some kind of bug

Panicky mother here. Just the headache bit that worried me as you don't normally get that with tummy bugs, do you?

Thanks for responding, DDF. It is worrying isn't it? It is a huge relief that it may be some kind of bug. Glad your DD made a quick recovery.

Awww I hope they both get over it quickly...I asked at school today and it has happened to a few children over half term week so I think it must be a bug.

my dd2 (4) has had this, it's like a kids migraine I thought. She had a headache for a few days, headache and vomiting over a couple of nights but has otherwise been fine. Children are very odd. No temp or rash but she was really distressed with the pain. Settled with a big old dose of calpol and sleeping on me post vomit.

medicalmayhem · 03/03/2011 19:26

yeah there is we had it in the house last week, horrible but short lived bug!

BelligerentGhoul · 03/03/2011 19:30

Yep - 16 year old dd1 has it - although she hasn't actually been sick, just felt it.

Headache, temperature and nausea.

Sounds like it's doing the rounds then!

My DS2 is much better today but DS1 has been up since 4am feeling sick, although he hasn't actually been sick yet. To say I am feeling shattered is an understatement!
