Single MMR jabs - where to have them done

OK, so I posted on the other thread on this topic, but things are a bit heated over there at the mo, so I thought I would start another thread.

DS, now almost 12, had the combined MMR, and has since been diagnosed with ASD. Not sure if connected, as some traits before then, but who knows.

Now we have DD, who is 9 months. DH has said he does not want her to have the combined. He is very involved in a lot of AS parents groups, and has listened to lots of parents stories. So I thought I would do some research too, and among others found the other thread, which is very informative.

But need to know the logistics of how we would go about having the jabs for DD singly. Where do you go? And apparently there is no mumps vaccine available at the mo. What have others done about this?

I really would like some information, so please if you want to comment on the pros and cons, there is another thread for that. Wink

GP plus in Edinburgh does them.

I haven't given my girls the mumps imunisation.

Are you in the south east?

Flossie69 · 01/03/2011 07:30

Hmm it would have been useful to have said where I am! Blush

Am in West Sussex, on the coast. So Guildford v. close. Have also googled Babyjabs clinic - are they any good?

OK well not close to you but we used Breakspear Clinic in Hemel Hempstead.

Edinburgh is a bit far away Wink

we used babyjabs for ds1 and ds2, will use for dd. yes we were very happy with them. there is no single mumps available AFAIK but if you make an appointment to talk through with a doctor, you may decide that in fact that's not a problem.
