Schoo are injecting!!! Want to know if he is up to date he is,but I remember him having an injection when he was about 6 and am almost certain it was mmr but there doesnt seem to be a record of it anywhere

  1. does anyone else remember them having an extra around this age?
  2. will it harm him to have it again?

My dd was born in '87 and had MMR at 14mths and at age 5, so my guess is that your ds will have had two jabs already, Auntymandy. Hth!

Ds2 was born 91 - he's had MMR at 15 months, HIB at 22 months (?) and a pre-school booster which looks to have been DTP. No mention of MMR booster (but it might just be me not writing it down). HTH

if he has had it, what happens if he has it again? There is no medical record of it, but i remember him having one!

My son was born January 92. I remember him having a booster when DD was a week old, in March 97.

I don't think it is harmful to repeat (especially if you don't think it is harmful to have it first time round).

I will risk it then!

your doctor should be able to do a simple blood test to determine his antibody levels first - then you will definitely know

oh never thought of that. Will make an appointment.

My sister was born in 1990 and had her first MMR. Not long after she had it they decided that they needed to have the boosters but my Mum thought that was too much too close together so she never had it.

All his imms should be recorded on his medical records - just ring the surgery and they'll be able to check for you.

there is no record of it although I am sure he had it!
