Private Dermatologist in London - any recommendations please?

Hello

I am becoming exasperated trying to find a solution to my skin problems. I have had eczema as a child, with occasional flare-ups in adulthood. I am now awash with the stuff, although it looks different to my old eczema (but its not ringworm, uticaria etc) all over my face, tops of my legs, in my ears and on my hands. My GP has been next to useless giving me aqueous cream and the same hydrocortisone ointment as before, which doesn't work. I have tried honey, oats, Aveeno, oilatum, e45 etc...

My face looks like it has been burnt! I want to see a private dermatologist - does anyone have any London recommendations please? I think it could be an allergy but I don't know. I am desperate!

thanks!

It could be fungal infection you know, my ds had similar symptoms and zinc supplement sorted him out (and derm couldn't help either). Have you considered a nutritionist?

There is good derm department at St Thomas's, can't see why you wouldn't get a referral if you asked?

I see a private dermatologist for my psoriasis in north london. Her name is Janet Ross and she practices out of the St John and St elizabeth in St johns wood. Don't know which part of london you are in. You can ask your GP to refer you to one they recommend and then see them privately.

I've used Janet Ross before, she's really good. My GP recommended her for allergy testing and I've taken my son to see her too

Ooh so she sounds like the one, then. I am in the North London area so I am going to see if I can get an appointment with her. Will investigate now. THANKS so much, I have been so miserable with this. My GP has given me a private referral letter and my husband's company medical insurance should cover it. Thanks again!
