Other people's reaction to DS's circumcision...

... and how do I prepare him for it?

He was circumcised at 11 months during an operation to reconstruct his urethra, the surgeon used his foreskin to make a new urethra for him. Today I was changing his nappy in a baby changing area when another mum spotted his circ and said "oh dear, he's been circumcised, poor little thing." At a playgroup a while back I overheard two mums describe circumcision as mutilation, I wrote the comment off as extreme, although I understand why people object to it as a personal choice. But now I'm panicking that this could be more of an issue for him than I thought.

Thanks Pixie Smile

I thought about sniping at the mum in the loo today, but then decided I just wanted to get DS away from her. It was clear that she disapproved.

The thing that has surprised me is that people generally take exception to circumcision, although I doubt many people (in the UK anyway) do it for non-medical or non-religious reasons.
