DD is 7 months old. Althoguh she has always been quite a good sleeper at the moment she is being a very good sleeper (13-14 hours at night plus at least 2 if not 3 daytime sleeps). Yesterday we noticed that she had a bit of a rasha nd was a bit spotty, today she's a bit blotchy. She's been quite out of sorts the last few days as well. She's still eating and drinking okay although perhaps not quiter as much as usual. I haven't given her any new food groups recently so I dotn think it can be a food reaction.
She doesn't have a temperature.

I'm inclined to think that she might have picked up a small virus and she's getting it out of her body (hence the skin). Dh wants me to take her to the doctors. What would you do in my position?

TIA

Doctors no question, get your mind put at ease, get her checked out

I'd take her to the Drs, best to get her seen incase she does need medicine to make her better.

mckenzie · 18/10/2005 20:35

oh heck, I feel a bit awful now for not having taken her today. I guess i thought you were all going to think DH was over-reacting.

When its my own child I'm never certain whether I should take them to the Drs as I don't want to feel like I am wasting their time.

Just see how she goes tonight and take her tomorrow if she hasn't improved.

DD (13 months) has been like this all weekend and until today as well. Also had a temperature that went up and down. Noticed a slight rash tonight (it looked more like heat rash to me although it that didn't stop me doing th glass test). I think there might be a virus going round. DD is a big lazybones at the best of times but has surpassed herself with her sleeping this week. Otherwise OK but a bit grouchy.

Yes I would take her to the Dr's just to put your mind at rest. Is she teething?

mckenzie · 18/10/2005 21:54

I think she is teething. She was dribbling so much yesterday she was on her 4th vest and top by midday! The dribble is n't quite so bad today though but I haven't felt her gums recently so I'm not certain.

Teething can be so traumatic fo rsome babies, & the it can cause endless problems. Sore bottoms/rashes/ etc..but would take her to dr's, you are a concerned parent, so you wont be wasting their time, if your worried about that.

Try nelsons teether powders-they are great BTW.
