Change of Fabric softner reaction times....

Hi all

DS is just coming up for being two years old. He always had dry skin patches, and I wondered whether or not it is the fabric softner we use (fairy). We use Fairy non bio powder but have to use fabric softner as we are in a really hard water area!!

They are not hideous dry patches and do not bother him. I have done a small wash now using half the amount of powder we use, and half the amount of a new brand of fabric softner (comfort pure).

I was just really wondering whether or not anyone knows how long until it causes irritation on the skin if its going to??

Only the little chap wore his day clothes yesterday with the new stuff(FC) and wore his baby grow all night. Nothing seems to have come up so far, but just interested to know. His washing is mounting up, and don't want to wash too much using the new stuff if he has irritation!!

TIA :)

would really ask his doc for some emolient to use after bathing and try not to overbathe him. You are doing the right thing by using pure or non bio products.

Thank you cheekeymonkey!

We tend to bath the chap every other day and have done since he was born. Both my man and I have quite sensitive skin. Plus I think if you overbathe you can be getting rid of a lot of the natural essential oils we have in our skin.

Back to the original question for any others out there who also would like to chip in...

If the Fabric softener was going to irritate our DS, how long do you think it would take to start??

TIA
