Husband taking a bath seems odd

hortham · 25/02/2011 19:28

My husband who has a regular office job often takes a bath in the evenings. Not after excercise either.
I find this odd and a little effeminate that a guy would do this.

Does anyone else agree?

He's obviously gay. Of course.

DameSuperGran · 25/02/2011 19:53

Op says he takes a bath not has a bath - could he be a sanitaryware thief?

GORGEOUSX · 25/02/2011 19:54

All depends what he's pouring into the water. If it's Badedas I would say that's perfectly normal; if, on the other hand he's using 'soap-on-a-rope' rather too vigorously ......

effeminate? I don't think so. Would you rather he stank? Would that make him more manly to you?

Is the bathwater so hot that it's like a sauna? (quite manly) or is it tepid with yellow ducks floating around in it? Grin

hortham · 25/02/2011 19:59

Hygiene is not my point. He has candles and bath oils in there and uses face masks. Now if that isn't feminine then is it masculine. I'm not a philistine, i welcome cleanliness of course and i enjoy sharing these things but surely this isnt normal?

Clearly some of you are aware that you're in a same sex relationship (his own selection)but please dont project your concerns on to me.

So ok, I agree that I love my hubby to be clean and take pride in himself but I fail to see how having a long soak with bath oils and candles with a face mask could be considered anything other than effeminate.

I had a conversation similar to this with Dsis last week.

DH hates baths. Never has them (is very clean but strictly a shower man)

Dsis has a newish boyfriend, was on the phone to her the other evening and asked what he was up to. She said "he's in the bath" And revealed that he has a bath most nights, anything up to an hour, with candles etc, doesn't read, just relaxes.

Have to say I found it pretty wierd, not sure why, probably because the thought of it would never enter DHs mind.

So some sympathy with the OP.

This is a wind up.

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 25/02/2011 20:06

My DH stands outside when it rains and scrubs himself with gravel. Your DH, OP, is clearly a woman in disguise. I bet it's a strap on

GORGEOUSX · 25/02/2011 20:06

hortham How long have you had carnal knowledge of your DH?

I'm just wondering why his bath-time antics has come as such a Shock to you

findingthepath · 25/02/2011 20:09

What other odd things dose your hubby do?

I dont think i can judge just on the bath things.

Ponders · 25/02/2011 20:12

a face mask???? Hmm

Friday night wind-up.

Next!

GORGEOUSX · 25/02/2011 20:13

Yes, I agree with findingthepath. What about tooth-brushing - does he use stripey or plain toothpaste? Does it have whitening properties? Does he brush side-to-side, or up and down? Grin

My DH always has a bath when he gets in. Wash away the dirt of the day, start the evening !

Plus it means if there is any romance later he is nice and fresh!

(I am always nice and fresh too as I bath with DD just before he gets in!)

RightUpMyRue · 25/02/2011 20:14

Yes hortham, your DP is big ol' bender. Baths are THE surest sign of gayage.

Mumi · 25/02/2011 20:14

So what if it is effeminate? Who cares?

LessNarkyPuffin · 25/02/2011 20:26

You need to have a serious talk with him. If he wears some face masks whilst bathing they won't work properly. He should wait until after his bath to apply them. His pores will be fully open from the steam and they'll be able to dry properly.

Do gays like Hawaiian pizza? At bath time?

Gosh. Shock

boyscomingoutofmyears · 25/02/2011 20:36

My DH does all the things you mention, he uses moisturiser and hand cream etc every day too.

I'm proud that my hubby takes care of himself and wants to look his best.

Boys coming of your rear is pretty gay already to be fair.

boyscomingoutofmyears · 25/02/2011 20:45

How rude! Actually, my husband is very manly in every other way. Besides, surley a man who embraces these things is actually more comfortable with his sexuality.
