I thunk my 14wk DD has conjunctivitis. Only in one eye at the momnent. Obviously can't go to doctors until tomorrow (if i can make an appointment) ... Any tips on what to do? Has anyone else experienced this with a young baby?

make sure she doesn't touch her eye and you too lest it spread to the other eye. breastmilk or black tea (obviously cooled) help. make sure you get antibiotics. dd has conjunctivitis since birth and it keeps coming back, it's a nightmare once it is established so ensure very careful hygiene till you get eye drops.

Oh no! How old is your DD? I'm dreading the morning after her big sleep as i don't think she'll be able to open her eye

dd is 19 weeks. antibiotics always help but it keeps coming back, she may have a blocked tear duct though, i hope in your case it will be wiped out quickly. when they give you the drops, be sure to put them in both eyes even if only one is infected.

Wait a minute - is the eye red or is it just gummy? Immature tear ducts are very common. I'd stick with cooled boiled water. Antibiotics may not be the answer here.
