Coughing baby - any suggestions

DD, 14 months, has had a cough when lying down for the last couple of days. When she's up and about she's absolutely fine, but as soon as she tries to sleep, in cot or pram, she coughs so hard she wakes herself up.
I've given her paracetamol tonight and raised the head of her mattress. But she's still coughing a lot and getting frustrated by being tired and waking up. I don't have anything other than paracetamol and ibuprofen in the house. Can anyone suggest anything I can do to help her?

Steam? Do you have a humidifier? If not, run the bath/shower on hot for 5-10 mins & then take dd in the steam for awhile.

Steam is very good. Bit of olbas oil/karvol if you have in the house on a tissue under the sheet/mattress cover helps open airways up a bit too - even for a cough.

Thanks. I'm running the bath now.
