bad headache/migraine triggers

I have had a bad headache beginnig in the afternoon and often still there the next morning on and off since I started dieting. Does anyone have experiences of low cal/low fat food triggering this type of thing?

I am eating weight watchers yoghurts and go ahead bars, I normally don't eat these things. Apart from that my diet is unprocessed things in the main.

Any advice would be appreciated, my head hurts!

Could be the artificial sweeteners. Or it could be dehydration.

Cut out the WW stuff and the Go Ahead stuff. Just have a natural yoghurt and a piece of fruit. Some oatcakes with a little bit of peanut butter or Philadelphia or hummus.

Drink loads of water.

Thank you, I am trying to drink more, and not having any ww stuff to see if the bad head goes away!

Trying to eat fewer calories but not going to bother if i feel this awful!

Well you do need to make sure you are eating enough. But enough of the right stuff!

I did WW and had lots of migraines during it. Later found out that aspartame is the main trigger, along with refined sugar. Try avoiding these and I'm sure they'll go. Aspartame is so bad for you, didn't realise just how bad until I delved into it. Unfortunately all diet products contain it! Now I eat unrefined suagr and can go migraine free!

Thank you eyeofhorus, looked in the ingredients list and full of aspartame and others. I haven't eaten one today and no headache, so perhaps problem solved??

What shall I do with the ones left in the fridge- do you think tesco will give me a refund??

Aspartame is definitely a trigger. I have Fibromyalgi and it can trigger flare ups and if I ahve a lot of stuff with it in, I get bad headaches.
I find when I get a headache/migraine that sometimes * disclaimer NOT ALL THE TIME a can of full fat/sugar coke takenw ith apinkillers can occasionally help.

of corse dehydration can cause bad heads, tiredness etc

I get migraine if I have diet coke etc. It can definitely be a trigger.

Well thanks for the tips guys. I have eaten only healthily the last few days and drank only tea and water and fruit juice, the headaches have gone! Hurrah, must have been the additives and/or aspartame.
