I'm 45, want to come off pill, so what alternatives should I consider?

I am just a bit scared of doing this, partly because I reckon the pill might fend off menopause a bit if I keep taking it.

Want to improve my libido, but couldn't contemplate the prospect of a pregnancy. Don't really like condoms, and we were never really clever at using them anyway (used to get too eager).

P.S. contemplated changing my name for this, but, oh 'what the hell!!'

Mirena coil?

Easy · 14/10/2005 11:52

I think I'll have the mirena after this baby (I'll be almost 40)

i bore people to death with this on mn but i think its so great i spread the word -

COPPER COIL

better than mirena (IMO) as there are no horrible hormones to contend with (therefore libido and mood is better)

lasts up to 8 years

heavier, but shorter periods (IME)

I'm seriously considering the copper coil.
