painful mole discovered with chopstick!

My ds poked me (about 20 mins ago) with a chopstick right in the middle of a largish mole I have on my back.

It felt like he was using a needle and it made me yelp! I then made him do the same to another bit of my back and it didn't hurt at all. I can still feel the mole hurting a little now.

Now of course I am now going to have it checked out at the dr but I expect I will spend the weekend worrying about it.

Anyone had this?

Can you see the mole (with mirrors) or can another adult look at it for you?

My moles sometimes bleed. Doctors have never thought any of them looked dangerous (touches wood this continues).

Fwiw, I think it is perfectly normal that a mole would hurt more when poked or scratched than normal skin. Actually, having scratched a few on my back by mistake on occasion, I do remember them hurting and the pain lingering for some time.

What you need to check is (1) is mole regular, smooth edged, round, and symmetrical (2) has same color throughout (3) has hair growing on it. All of these are good signs.
