Where can you get the single (individual) measles, mumps, rubella vaccine?

We're near Reading, Berkshire.... Tried GP surgery, but they will only give the combined MMR jab.
Wondered if any mumsnetters in the area had found anywhere local and also how much approx it costs.

Why do you want these ?

Try the jabs website. I think they list clinics that will give the single jabs. Also know of Breakspear Hosp. near st albans but that maybe too far for you.

I don't really want to get into a debate her (I know it's a controversial issue), but basically I know someone who is convinced that their baby was damaged by the MMR vaccine. I personally am not sure if this is the case or not, but we have decided that as there is POTENTIALLY a risk with the MMR vaccine, we'd prefer not to take it where our children are concerned.
We have debated for months on this and have made our decision.

PM, we're just giving DS the measles vacc. We will give him the mumps at around 4. Mumps is not 'dangerous' in the way that measles is and is only a problem to boys @age 9-12. If we have a DD then we will give her the rubella vacc.

personally going for combined jab with ds2-Wakefield's research (the dr whose research made the original link to autism)has now been discredited.
however,having gone single route with ds1 a few yrs ago, now committed to finishing it (and paying out considerable sums to do so!) - dh2000 run an outreach type clinic at a hotel in Reading a few times a yr - they've got a website.

I'm also near Reading and go to Dr Seyedi in Staines. I found out the other day though that there is a place in Oxford that my friend goes to that come to the Holiday Inn at Caversham Bridge every 3 months to administer MMR singly. If you want more information, let me know and I will find out for you.

bit simplistic to say Wakefield has been discredited - tho i know that's what the general press say. it is actually a bit more compilicated than that thoiugh.

and maybe all girls should have rubella at 12 - that would solve the pregnancy danger issue.
