Help! Have I got interstital cystits?

I'm driving myself crazy over this one. I have a constant urge to urinate...no pain but a feeling that I have to go all the time (and a sort of pressure).

This has been going on for 4 weeks now...dr has given me 4 types of antibiotics despite all urine tests coming back clear. He has also done an ultrasound to check my kidneys and ovaries...all fine. He couldn't check my bladder as it wasn't full enough.

He's said that if this dose of AB's doesn't work then he will do a bladder distention under general anaesthetic...which sounds horrific. Has anyone any experience of IC? I have no stabbing pains or problems with sleep which makes me hope it might just be the curable oversensitive bladder. This has just started from nothing and I'm really worried.

Ask firm a ct scan ultrasoundnshowed nothing with member I have about 7stones!

just checking in - how is everyone getting on - hope you are all finding your bladder relief in some way (seems to be different ways for everyone)? Worzelswife - sorry you are facing this - have you had your tests yet?

Nothing much to report here. I'm on a fairly even keel - though I still am often 'aware' of my bladder. Frequency is pretty much under control. I certainly go more than 'normal' people but not to the extent that it stops me doing things. The diet is a bastard...but the upside is I'm the slimmest I've ever been and I've become oddly used to the restrictions. I don't know how it will feel if I'm able to start having normal foods again...I hope I don't go crazy and start eating ridiculous amounts!

I know this thread is 10 years old.. I've just read the whole thread as I'm in the same boat.

I'm wondering if any of the original posters are still around? How are you now?
