Ok TMI alert big time but I'm desperate!!

I went on antibiotics six months ago, which made me...erm... go to the loo a lot... Since then I have had, on and off, unbearable itching, and burning when I go to the loo, like it's been cut (not cystitis, the other end Blush). Have been to the doctors twice and was told it was thrush (didn't even know you could get it there!) but it hasn't gone away with medication. Sometimes it's fine but other times it's just awful. I now have a rash and it's painful to sit down :( but I can't get a doctor's appointment until next week when it'll prob have gone, as it comes and goes.

Does anyone know what the heck could be going on?! I'm getting seriously fed up now and the doctors seem to be a bit useless so far :(

Could you have a little fissure?

That would cause burning and itching when you go, and can take ages to heal, sometimes months/years.

Has anyone actually had a look? A GP can diagnose a fissure, and prescribe something to help - and yes it is possible to have a yeast infection there I think, too.

You can try this regime and see if it helps:

when you 'go', dab your bottom with damp cotton wool. Dry it carefully (that's important) with cotton wool as well, and then apply a little bit of witch hazel ointment (buy the boots own one, not witch-whatever brand name one as it has perfume I think) and then bung knickers back on (cotton ones obv!).

Keep doing this every time you poo. The witch hazel helps dry out and heal the fissure. My mum had trouble for months and was down for surgery when she tried this instead and it was sorted very quickly.

This is my betting as to your problem, but I might be wrong so do go and have it checked out. Good luck x
