Loads of blood

DD2 is 9 days old. I had basically stopped bleeding for the last 2 or 3 days. Suddenly tonight I am pouring with blood. Huge clots are coming out and I am bleeding very very heavily.

Is this normal? Wasn't like this with DD1. Do I need to see anyone? DD2 is EBF so would have to take her with me, don't fancy going to the doctors or hospital if it really isn't needed.

Please put my mind at rest.

Thanks

It doesn't sound normal to me. Can you give the post natal ward a call?

MegGriffin · 09/02/2011 19:48

Do you have a phone number for the midwife you could call?

girliefriend · 09/02/2011 19:48

Ring oohs gp now, its prob nothing but you need checking just incase of infection. Have you got someone with you to take you?

Chica31 · 09/02/2011 19:51

Oh dear that isn't the news I wanted to hear. DH is here, and my parents so loads of people.

I just didn't want to go as it is a huge hassle!

It'll be more hassle if you have an infection.

Littlefish · 09/02/2011 19:53

Off you go, young lady!

Chica31 · 09/02/2011 19:54

That is true, my parents and DH are making me go now.

I'll tell you later that it is nothing, I am fine and I made a big fuss about nothing. Hopefully!

Went to the emergency doctors, who sent me to the hospital. Just been given some drops to take to force all the blood out. Just seen on the scan a huge lump that has got stuck.

DD2 came with us, but slept all the time, she is a little star. DD1 stayed with my parents and slept the whole time as well.

Much easier than I thought it would be and so much happier it has been sorted.

I love the Spanish medical system, all quick and easy!
