pain after root canal - normal?

i had it done this morning and am now feeling really rough - really really sore and have taken codeine with nurofen and paracetamol :(

just wanted to see if it was normal

i went back and they removed the temporary filling in case anything was still there - got more anti-biocs hopefully they will work soon as still painful on and off! seem to be taking ibupofen every two hours. i just really want to sleep
