Chest pains due to stress?

If you get chest pains due to stress what do they feel like?

I have been getting weird pains for about a week, have been to the doctor twice about it. I got given a chest x-ray (still waiting for results) but my doctor said it could be beacause i am stressed Confused I don't particularly feel it, but i am going through a breakup with my dd's dad so it would kind of make sense.

Anyone had any experience?

could be costochondritis

I have had this and it was stress related. They felt like general sharpish pains inside of my rib cage, and were accompanied by a really tight feeling (as though my clothes were much too tight) and palpatations.

Thanks Smile

Thats interesting blinks, i googled costochondritis and it sounds bang on apart from that i don't have any tenderness which seems to be one of the main symptoms. It describes the chest pain (next to breastbone, sharp) completly right though Confused

tenderness is normally there with costochondritis between 3-6th rib.

it could simply be muscle tension so try working on relaxation, maybe some stretching/yoga and make sure you're breathing properly... sometimes when stressed, breathing changes can cause aches and pains.

do you have any other symptoms besides the pain?

none at all blinks

it doesn't make me breathless or anything, just hurts Confused it only lasts for a split second then it is completly gone.

without any other symptoms it's very unlikely to be cardiac.
