Snotty baby - teething? Or allergy?

Hi

My 5 month old DD seems to have had a permanent cold since she was about 6 weeks old - with a runny nose and generally 'gunky' throat and a bad cough at night. We've seen the HV and the GP twice and they're not worried because she's putting on weight and seems happy on the whole. She has periods that are worse than others (we think these are actual colds) but in between she's just generally coldy. Could this be an allergy? (to dust? our dog? milk - my DH and brother both have mild milk allergy - though they don't seem convinced by this theory). Or could she be teething (she is v. dribbly)?

I'm feeling a bit fobbed off by the professionals and hate to hear her coughing so badly at night and breathing heavily in the day.

Help please!
