OK, have had an ongoing saga with contact lenses, including various tests etc because my prescription was wobbly.
Conclusion - one eye is a bit astigmatic, but not anything that can be corrected with a lens. So, the optician gave me some 2 weekly contact lenses and said they were £20 per month. The daily disposable of the same type is £30 per month.
However, I used to wear daily disposables which I got from Specsavers which were £10 per month. The vision is no better - and no worse - with them. So I asked the optician and he said 'oh, the £30 are a better quality lens so I'm going to recommend those'. Tbh I'd rather have the cheaper lens because it makes no difference, and no difference to my eyes either (I checked, he confirmed, he just wanted to recommend the better quality one.)
So, I looked online and it seems I can get the basic lens - or even the better quality lens - cheaper online.
How does it work? Where do I get an eye test and checkup if I buy my lenses online, and how often should I be checked etc?
