Headaches caused BRUISING and swelling on face and eye !!??!!

DH has been having headaches for a good few weeks - basically all the time. Paracetemol and ibuprofen help a little but do not eradicate iykwim.

Anyway, yesterday he woke up after having a horrific night of a horrific headache and throbbing with a black and swollen eye where the headache had been throughout the night.

THe doctor is saying cluster headaches, but the symptoms don't quite match up afaik - it has been basically continuous for 3 weeks now.

Anyone ever heard of anything similar - even google is failing!!?

I would go and see an optician and see what they can see, and go back and see the gp again.

Ladyblahblah, my younger sister suffers from the same thing. She was referred to a neuroligist and was told it was migranes.
He prescribed her some migrane pills and it has now calmed down, after 3 months. She also has to watch what she eats as there are trigger foods.
Sorry I don't know the name of the tablets.
