Weight loss after baby no 2

Advice please. I am finding weight loss extremely hard and recently found (to my horror) that I am weighing in at 12stone 7 since my second baby was born late Sept 2010 (usual weight around 11 stone). I have started going to slimming world but progress is very slow and I am wondering if this is due to the fact that I am breast feeding... I am also wondering if it is even worth undertaking such a diet at this point particularly as
a) watching what I eat all the time makes me feel pretty miserable and
b) the prospect of not having a glass of wine most evenings is pretty tough!
Advice please on whether dieting is ok while breastfeeding or should I just wait a couple of months to finish b feeding?
Many thanks for all opinions.

I guess it depends what you mean by dieting, I'm not familiar with slimming world.

If you mean just eating healthily, then you're absolutely a-ok to do it while breastfeeding. If you mean crash dieting, then I think your milk would be fine, but you'll probably end up feeling crappy.

Why not try a 90% on / 10% off approach? So you watch what you eat 90% of the time, but every now and then (say one meal every 3 days) you just have what you want. Does that sound a bit more manageable?

Re wine, I try to only have a glass or two (three maybe?) at the weekends, but make sure it's a reeeeeeally nice one. And try to get into the habit of doing something else to wind down at the end of the day, my DP brings me a crossword from the free paper on the train and I just sit and have a bit of me time. Might not sound great compared to a glass of wine, but it does the trick (mostly!)
