HELLP syndrome - next baby??

Does anyone have any words of wisdom or support about having had HELLP syndrome with previous pregnancy and then going on to have another baby?
I would love a third, but am really worried that I would be putting my life at risk by doing it.
Can't seem to get an answer from any doctor, who have all just shrugged and said 'there are no studies about this'.
Anyone know a good consultant on this I could ask?

I am in a very similar situation. Everything I read seems to contradict each other.

I had a bad case of HELLP syndrome which came on in labour. My consultant advised me that there is a 50% chance of getting HELLP syndrome in a further pregnancy and, if so, a 50% chance of not surviving it.... I am obviously incredibly sad to have been given this advice and am finding it tough to come to terms with it.

Many websites talk about a 20% chance of re-occurance, so it is very hard to get definitive information.

I hope you are managing ok. I know HELLP syndrome can be very frightening. It is possible to ask your Heath Visitor or GP for a referral to a consultant to discuss your individual case.

I'm also in a similar situation...I was told that I had suspected HELLP syndrome with my first baby and was induced as an emergency. No one followed this up after the birth - didn't even check my blood pressure for 24 hours never mind do any blood tests (all part of the horrendous post natal care that I received in the hospital!)

...I didn't realise how serious it was until I did some research several weeks after my little boy was born. I know that I am very lucky to have a healthy baby boy who is now 7 and 1/2 months old but I would love to have another baby. I am terrified to go through with another pregnancy now that I know what could have happened...would really appreciate any recommendations for obstetricians who can provide advice on HELLP.
