Woke up with a sore knee

It was fine last night when I went to bed. Can't think of anything I did to it yesterday that might have developed during the night. But when I got out of bed this morning it was very sore and stiff. It hasn't really got any better during the day and is also quite tender to touch on the outside lower edge of the knee.

Anyone else experienced this? I can't have injured myself in my sleep, can I? That would just be weird!

I do have a history of sore knees, mainly connected with the weather, but I've never gone from nothing to this overnight before.

Could you have slept funny? May have twisted it in your sleep maybe?

Or arthiritis (can't spell) but it affects the joints of your body. And yes it is more common in older people but any age can suffer. You tend to get it more in the damp cold weather.I am sure I suffer from it, I have pains that come in my wrists, knees and toes.Luckily not all at once!

I have woken with a very sore knee without an obvious cause. Other joints joined in later - a flair up. I never did discover why! I wondered if I had twisted something in my sleep.
How are you today?
