[being stupid emoticon].

Have been feeling sick every day since Saturday. It came on out of the blue. I have also feeling out of it and last night got a sharp pain in my head and thought I was going to faint.

A nurse has checked and said my blood pressure is fine, told me to stand up and said my BP did what it was meant too (I felt really faint/dizzy when I stood up). She pricked my finger and the result was 3.6.

Yesterday I ate pasta, mushrooms and chicken for dinner and had some chocolate. This morning I have had porridge for breakfast and been for a walk.

I am still feeling sick and out of it. The nurse said I was feeling ill because I was following the Pig to Twig diet. Because of this I ate the dinner mentioned but I still don't feel any better.

I can't get through to the surgery. Can I ring NHS direct just for advice or can anyone help me please?

think you need to see a GP rather than a nurse

malinkey · 02/02/2011 09:36

Are you stressed at all? Feeling nauseous, a bit spacey and feeling faint could be symptoms of anxiety IME. Have you been getting enough sleep?

Of course, you could have some kind of bug that would make you feel like this?

piratecat · 02/02/2011 09:39

sounds like a virus to me op, there are many about.

i am on day 12 of swine flu here. No feeling sick but a very distorted out of it feeling has prevailed for the whole illness. This has been really upsetting me as it's too weird to explain.

Go and see the doc for some reassurance. x

hillyhilly · 02/02/2011 09:40

Can you just take it easy for a day or two? Eat normally (I don't know anything about pig to twig), and rest.
You sound very panicky for someone with fairly non-specific symptoms, do you usually react like this when you are ill?

malinkey · 02/02/2011 09:41

Have you got a temperature?

Dumbledoresgirl · 02/02/2011 09:43

Definitely go to the doctor ImFab. At the very least, s/he can tell you if your aymptoms fit a virus going round your community. Sorry you are still no better. take good care of yourself.

(PS keep up the eating - it make take more than one meal if you have been starving yourself)

ImFab · 02/02/2011 09:43

I am panicky because I am scared there is something wrong.

I have a lot on my mind and had bad news yesterday but was feeling like this before then.

Temp is fine, is 36.8.

I had flu for 2 weeks after Christmas.

Sounds like stress anxiety to me but please see a doc.

How long have you been on that diet? I know nothing about it but generally things like that are faddy and are based on practically starving yourelf. Please tell me this is not one of them?!

If it invlve eating very little then kit could well be the caue as you could be feeling weak.

ImFab · 02/02/2011 09:56

No, I have not been eating the full variety as I have forgotten half of it but I have not been starving myself and haven 't felt hungry other than just before meals. I have been doing it for 3 months.

Have you cut out caffiene all of a sudden? I did a couple of weeks ago in a misguided attempt to detox. I felt terrible, headache, sick, lightheaded, ANGRY, all day before vomitting and passing out fully clothed on top of my bed at 8.20pm. And I don't even drink a lot of coffee / tea.

ImFab · 02/02/2011 09:59

No, I have been doing this for 3 months, nothing sudden and nothing different since I started feeling unwell on Saturday.

pregnant..?

ImFab · 02/02/2011 12:11

I really don't think I can be as DH has had a vasectomy.

I asked for advice from a pharmacist and she said the 3.6 level is low but suggested I see my GP.

Ok ! I would see your gp then , at least they can put your mind at ease x

ImFab · 02/02/2011 12:51

I have a routine appointment booked for next week so I will ask him if I can ask about this rather than the stuff I am meant too as he says how are you? I saw fine, and that is that.

Get an appointment with your doctor. Who knows your history.

ImFab · 08/02/2011 11:03

I have seen the doctor today and I have gastroitis.
