Hi,

My son began to feel unwell sunday evening. We had been out and when we came home he went straight to bed saying he felt bad and wanted to lie down. I don't believe he has ever done this in his entire 8 yrs! His forehead felt a bit warm but only 36.7C on thermometer. After a full dinner (and pud as requested) I gave him neurofen and he slept through the night.

His appetite is unaffected, but he is pale and fairly drained. Says he feels tired. Even if he tried he normally cannot but turn into a whirling dervish moving everywhere throughout the house whilst playing. He is devoid of energy at the moment. I brought him to the doctor yesterday and he said maybe rest and keep an eye on him. He has slight swollen glands in his throat.

He has developed a snotty nose and has a cough.

I am worried about him missing time from school, yet don't want to send him in if he is unwell. If I let him rest at home for a couple days more until he feels stronger, do you think it ok to send him in if he still has a snotty nose?

as long as he feels ok, he can join the rest og his peers (who will all have snotty noses at this time of year). keep ane eye on temp though.
