DD and white blood cells in urine

DD keeps complaining of tummy ache. Then out of nowhere she started weeing the bed and wet herself on the carpet once. She is nearly 6 and has been dry since 2 years old.

Anyhow we took her to the GP who did a urine sample to check for UTI but there was no infection although there were white blood cells. Next week the same thing, DD complaining of tummy ache and weeing herself but no infection and white bloods present again.

Fast forward another month and the SAME thing again. The GP doesn't seem particularly perturbed or have any ideas what could be going on, is is quite normal to have white blood cells in urine but no infection? Something must be going on here for DD to be weeing herself (she said she couldn't feel it/didn't need a wee when she wee'd on the carpet)

Any ideas?

No it isn't normal. White cells can be a sign of infection, but if there are persistent white cells with no infection and new pain and wetting, it needs to be looked into.

White cells alone with no symptoms would most likely just mean a contaminated sample, not a problem

Did the GP send a sample to hospital for testing or just do a dipstick test on it's own?

I would ask for a referral.

Dipstick test and then sent the sample off to check for infection. No infection found.
