Blood patch to cure dural tap/spinal headache... when to relax!

After a reasonable epidural/birth on Monday - a lovely healthy newborn asleep on me right now-, I developed an agonising spinal headache/dural tap which I was admitted to hospital for, and then had a blood patch (grim) to cure. It appears to have worked - ie I can actually function standing up!

BUT I am utterly anxious and paranoid about every little twinge in my head or back and dont know when I will be able to relax again without worrying that I will be really ill again. Anyone got any experience of this? Thanks!

I found I was paranoid about every headache for months but then my blood patch didn't work and I just had to wait it out (ten days!). After a month or so it was a distant memory!

Congratualtions!

Thanks, the headache has gone and I think I am starting to chill out and not feel so fragile. Was horrid though wasn't it? And Sad that your blood patch didn't work, poor you. I was sceptical but thankfully it did work in my case. Ten days - how did you cope?!
