It's about 10 days before my period is due and I'm getting occasional bloody discharge - it sounds much more dramatic than it is because it doesn't look like new, red blood but more like old, slightly brown blood (sorry for TMI!)
I've had this happen once or twice before several years ago and a nurse told me it was probably just the cervix 'spitting out' leftover blood from my last period. In that case, and in this case, it's happened after having had intercourse (again, sorry for TMI!!)
My cervical smears are bang up to date (only 2 months ago) and all clear.
So am I right not to bother the GP with this one? Or is it always sensible to get an appointment to discuss this kind of thing?
