whats wrong with my back and chest - feels like its burning

i had a chest infection over the last few weeks have finished the ab's and now im still out of breath when i walk anywhere and the skin on my chest and the same place on my back between my shoulders feels like its on fire ,it comes and goes and i have no idea what it is - very uncomfortable!!

could it be pleurisy?

i think id me in more pain having read up on others having it - its very strange ,it feels hot inside my body and on the surface of the skin - like sunburn

Coould it be a reaction to the ABs? My DH started reacting to certain ABs in a similar sounding way.

I'd get to the GP first thing tomorrow, or call NHS direct/local OOH service and see if you can get an appointment today; if it is something like pleurisy, it wants treating as soon as possible.

i dont think its a reaction to the ab's as i had it even before i started the tablets a week or so before - im stumped

It can follow another infection, and you can get this type of pain before the rash appears.

could be i supose but there is no visible rash
its really burning today
and ive still got a dry cough and im out of breath just going for a short walk or upstairs

The rash might appear soon. Sounds like you should get checked out anyway. Sympathies, sounds like a rough time for you.

can you have shingles without a rash ? there are a few what i thought were acne spots on back where im feeling the pain

I think the pain can come before the rash.

Shingles affects only on side of the body...it sounds like you might have something wrong with your esophagus...like acid...that can be felt in the chest and the back region.

I had pain for a week before the rash, with shingles, and the 'rash' was only about three spots on my forehead - looked and felt like sunburn, very sensitive to touch, but the pains were mostly shooting nerve pains inside my head/ear/eyeball on and off for a week before (and for a while after).

You could also have a trapped nerve? Strange that its back AND front, though. Do see the doctor. It might or might not be connected to the dry cough and breathlessness, I would guess maybe not but am not a doc
