usually periods are pretty regular, getting the usual cramps and draggy feeling

but today I've suddenly started having alight bleed, very red blood, doesn't feel like a period as its the middle of the month for me, very confused?? I'm 44, are my periods starting to go haywire?Confused

Please do not worry yourself unduly but would see the GP asap. Any such changes to the cycle outside your norm should be reported to the doctor.

when i was younger for years i always had a mid cycle bleed and had it checked out at the time (scan) and seemed to be nothing. i occasionally get odd mid cycle bleeds and have the last year been having odd pre and post period prolonged bleeding but have regular yearly smears (latest was ok) and recently had a (pre menopause) scan to check out odd bleeding which appeared to be clear, i have just turned 46. my understanding is that at our age our periods will become erratic, mine have which is a bit confusing. good to get yourself checked out as gp will (i think) do a blood test etc

I had this and it was caused by a pollyp (or however you spell it). I had it removed in a quick and simple oporation and now all is well. Had I left it and not gone to the drs I would have had a niggling worry about the cause, and of course the pollyp would have grown larger while I worried.
