Hi there,

Just reeling from the news that a good friend of mine has early stage cervical cancer. She got married last month and had just started trying for a baby.

At the early stage I assume she has a pretty good chance of survival, but I wonder if anyone has info on the likely effects on her fertility?

Any advice welcome from people who've experienced this condition, either themselves or someone close to them. I am at a loss to know what to do.

Hi

Sympathies to your friend, and you too as you must be very upset.

I've never had the disease ut I did work for a charity that had a telephone line offering just the answers you want. The charity was macmillan cancer Relief, I have posted the link below with the telephone number on, I am sure someone will either be able to give you the info you need, or send you towards someone who can. Good luck to you both (but yes, her chances are much better for being Early Stage).

Macmillan

Thanks for the replies. It's apparently at an early stage but until she has further tests we won't know how early. Here's hoping.

How is your friend now? I have a mate who is in exactly the same situation. She only found out today, and I am searching the internet to see how I can help her. I think she is worried about her fertility as she is only 27.
