Hi all, I've been given an eye prescritption as follows:

R eye: SPH +0.25
L eye: SPH +1.00 CYL -0.75

The optometrist left it up to me as to whether I go for glasses saying it wasn't essential but the right eye is having to work harder. What do you think? I have been having the occasional eye ache but my actual eyesight seems ok. Thanks!

Okay, right eye is basically perfect which is why your vision is ok, you're relying on your right eye to see clearly. The left eye is longsighted with astigmatism (the astigmatism is the cyl part). If you're getting eyestrain, I'd advise glasses for computer use and intensive reading ie reading a book or newspaper. You shouldn't need them for tv or driving.
