Hormone Imbalance, 10 month period / bleeding

Hello

Just wondering if anyone can shed any light onto my silly problem.

Had a LO in April 09 and breastfed for over a year, when I stopped my period came back immiedately and basically hasn't stopped for more than 2 or 3 days.
The first few months my gp put down to things getting back to normal but now we are the best part of a year in and still no better.
I have had tonnes of tests and a hospital stay all to be told I have a hormone imbalance and have been put on the pill just over a month ago.
This hasn't helped at all!
My hubby and I would like to start trying again but the bleeding constantly & being put back on the pill kind of gets in the way.
Anybody out there had a similar experience?
Any herbal remedies or tips etc, I'd live to hear from you.
Thanks : )

It could be due to some deficiency, there is a lab in Sussex that tests hair samples for mineral deficiencies dealing mostly with helping with fertility issues, it's called Foresight, they also do general tests (my ds was tested there b/c of malabsorption issues and I found it very useful). You get the result and ref ranges and also a suggestion how to address this.
The tests are totally scientific and some scientists regard hair test as being more representative as hair contains minerals for a longer time-span.
Maybe you could try that, at least no needles involved?

Ooooh, is it pricey??

hi

I have had three children and after the second one i bleed for 5 months and after the third i bleed for 7 months. my gp tried everything coil mini pill combine pill nothing helped.

then i was tested for something called von willibrand disease which is a blood clotting problem (bearing in mind i am now 36 this is very rarely diagnosed and frequently missed but surprisingly common) i now have monthly infusions to control my bleeding

hope you find help soon

It was £40 a couple of years ago, I am sure there is the price there somewhere on the website (or maybe they sent me email..?). U could email them and they will send you more details. Another lab that does hair tests is Biolab in London, not sure how much they charge tho.

Were you on the pill before lo? Coz I read that that lowers some vit/minerals.

The questionnaire was like for a couple with lots of possible symptoms to tick (or not), but for my ds most of it was irrelevant.

just found it on their website, £50 for a single sample

Mrs Guffer - how did yours stop in the end, was it naturally or thru the pill or injection, I have had both and neither seems to do anything???

I find that with me anything with progesterone in it causes me to bleed and unfortunately most forms of oral contraception contain this. i have an infusion to control my bleeding now which is called ddavp but in the early days they gave me transaxamic acid which may help have you tried the latter x

I have made an app't to see my gp this week as think I may be devoloping anemia, will see if they can test for this as well.
