Does this sound like swine flu?

Started with feeling very sick and dizzy during the night. Retching, but no vomiting. ds2 did actually vomit a few times.

High temperature and very sore body/skin. Aching limbs unrelieved by paracetamol.

Very tired/sickly. Some diarrhoea at the beginning.

Starting to feel better, but every time I do much I just feel exhausted and sick/dizzy again.

Supposed to be back at work tommorrow Sad

Does this sound like the swine flu or just some random bug?

Oh gosh sounds awful. Im not sure tbh, there is so much going around.

Ive been up all night as i feel terrible. Sore throat shivering, aching, bad cough, blocked nose and now feeling sick :(

Hoping its not swine flu! Hope you are ok OP. Drink lots and try to rest. Although rest is pretty impossible with DC isn't it!

really tricky as noro seems to be doing the rounds as well.
I'd guess that if symptoms are predominantly sickness/feeling sick/runs with high temp then quite likely to be something like noro, whereas 25goingon95 sounds more like flu. Both hideous but probably recover rather faster with noro.

I'm trying to work out whether my really horrible tummy cramps with no appetite for 3 days on the trot are tummy bug (and hence contagious) or a really viscious period.

hope you both feel better soon.

Hope you both feel better soon too Smile

sudden onset of cough, high temp, aches, shivers, cold symtoms and in some cases gastro probs. If its just gastro and not respatory then I doubt its swiney.

ilovemyhens · 16/01/2011 14:59

It has been a bit respiratory.

We've been sneezing and have been left with chronic coughs. My sneezing has now gone, but ds1 has started and my cough is still present.

ds2 is about the best of us, it doesn't seem to have bothered him too much apart from the vomiting.

It's been a mixture of resp and gastro tbh. This is why I was wondering if it was swine flu. I'd be glad if it was because it means that we've survived it Grin

Both me (I think) and DH have had it. I got something in October and needed 4 days in bed then 2 weeks to recover.

DH had something over Xmas- 6 days in bed and still not 100% better. he felt sick, terrible headaches, temp, and aches.

If you are not in bed then i don't think you have it.

i would say it is swine flu. You have all the symtoms, its a lot worse than a cold. I had inflenza b, this did not have the gastro side. There are only a few flu virus about and the majority are swine flu, so i expect thats what you have had.
