Can you use ear thermometer with grommets?

DD's nursery won't take her temperature until I find out if they can use an ear thermometer on her as she has grommets. It would never have occurred to me that you wouldn't be able to, but now I have now idea! Can anyone help? Obv I could ask the doctor or a pharmacist, but thought you clever lot would know!

Never even thought about it but I did for my DS repeatedly when he had them and they never fell into his brain or anything and he can still hear so all seems to be well!!
