I just use ordinary honey for coughs and sore throats.

No its just ordinary honey with added lemon, the one I have in my cupboard now is Azdas own brand sqeezy lemon honey, but I;ve had it from other places too, ordinary honey does work fine, but the added Lemon does give it a slight edge over the normal stuff

It will depend on your DCs age,DD who is 8 gets a teaspoonful now & again as needed, probably done that since she was about 5, prior that probably half a teaspoonful & when a toddler we used to dilute it in a bit of hot water, let it cool & let her sip it in a toddler cup......not suitable for babies though, due to slight botulism risk

We use 10 or 15+ for coughs. How old is your little one? DS is 4 and he gets it as often as he needs it during the day if he's coughing. Usually min 3 times a day - and we give big spoonfuls. :) You can't overdose on it so it's really how much will provide relief and how much your lo will actually take! DS2 is 21 months and he gets smaller spoons but again, as often as he needs it. You can't give honey to under -1s though so please don't use it if your child is too young.
