Hello all

This is my first topic so be gentle with me :)

Due to age, being a smoker and a complicated gynae history I am going to ask my doc for the mini pill next week (hubby and I have been playing russian roulette - using withdrawal) for the last couple of years and now want to ensure I don't get pregnant!)

Have used micronor before but it gave me headaches. Looking at these boards, I'm reluctant to go for Cerazette as don't need anything to trigger depression. So....basically....what mini pills have you used and with what effects, good and bad?

Your stories would be much appreciated x

I was fairly happy with cerazette when I was taking it (1.5years). I had no periods on it but tended to get a small amount of breakthrough bleeding occasionally. I came off it in June as we decided to start a family but id also been at the GP the week before due to bleeding after sex. She reckoned it was the pill making my cervix sensitive (smear and tests came back clear). No issues since.

I didn't notice much of a change in my moods or mental health but a couple of weeks after I came off it my DH said I was a lot more loving and less likely to snap at him Blush

My skin was amazing while I was taking it, I got the most horrific spots on my chin that lasted a full month when i stopped Shock

The only thing I'm annoyed about now is that 7 months later my cycles are still not regular, but if you aren't planning on any more kids this won't be an issue for you!

Due to health reasons, I can only take the progesterone only pill.
In the past, I have take Feonella, Micronor/Noriday, with all to help reduce or stop my periods (I suffer really badly with periods). However, they have all increased my periods!

Does anybody suggest any progesterone only pill that is good to reduce bleeding? I'm so tired of having irregular periods and feeling tired constantly

I have started taking the pill a week ago a week after i had my period as im going away on 7th March and didnt want to be on my period whilst away.

Ive woke up this morning feeling like my period is coming anyway i cant touch my breasts and my back is really hurting so im wondering if i just stop taking will i come on as normal as id rather that than feel like this whilst away?
